6 Unique Bars You Must Visit In Your Lifetime

Constantinos Christoforou Entertainment

There is nothing quite like a decadent cocktail to treat your senses especially while relaxing in a beautiful, unique bar and chatting with good company. Whether you are looking for a luxurious rooftop bar, a classic bar with a twist or a cozy little countryside bar, when it comes to the ultimate summer drink satiation, there is surely something for everyone. We’ve compiled a list of bars that we think you will go back to again and again. This article features six of the most exceptional and stunning bars around the world, from Cyprus, Bangkok, Scotland, New York, Nepal to Kuala Lumpur.

Cyprus: Lost + Found Drinkery

The first reason to head here is because the Lost + Found Drinkery recently earned a position amongst the highly acclaimed “World’s 50 Best Bars” by Drinks International and continues to raise the benchmark of mixology in Cyprus. If that isn’t reason enough, not one but three of the best bartenders in Cyprus work here. They are always hard at work, whipping up innovative concoctions with style and flair in a small place oozing in eccentric character. Run by Dinos Constantinides, the Lost + Found Drinkery has an old pinball machine, cinema chairs and a wall full of Marvel Superheroes.

Bangkok: Tep

This city didn’t get its place in films like The Hangover for nothing. Bangkok is notorious for its party-hard reputation. However, the Thai capital also boasts a collection of more intimate and equally unique bars and quirky drinking holes. Tep in Bangkok is focused on enthralling, high tempo, traditional Thai percussion performances put on by local music students. Weeknights are quieter, with a more peaceful vibe. This bar is set in a restored duplex-style shop house and has beautiful unfinished walls and a gorgeous open balcony overlooking the bar and stage area below. Savor everything on the extensive food menu which is filled with delicious Thai drinking style appetizers and larger dishes like Sun Dried Thai Beef, Som Tum Papaya Salad and Prawn Ceviche. The stand out food here alone is worth coming over for. Cocktails at Tep are innovative, Thai-inspired recipes.

Scotland: Innes Bar

The Innes Bar originally opened its doors in 1860 and today this pub is one of the oldest bars in Inverness. This lovely place houses multiple dart, domino and pool teams, as well as serves as a meeting ground for avid fans of Caley Thistle, or the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football club. So, you can expect an incredibly lively and energetic atmosphere. Stop over to watch sports and enjoy a drink along with the pub’s classic fare like battered haddock or a steak and ale pie.

New York: 169

Feast your eyes on the cheetah-print pool table, a painting of dinosaurs, some lawn furniture, a few palm trees and multicolored lights simply because 169 does its own thing. It’s a place where everyone fits in. In the daytime, this bar looks like an indoor garage sale but at night the vibe is cool, low-key and fun. Imagine this; you can actually text a drink order to your table. However, it’s so much more fun to walk around and mingle. There are $3 beers and shots during happy hour, so you will be thrilled to start your night here. Between the inexpensive drinks and the New Orleans inspired menu, this place is truly one-of-a-kind.

Nepal: Mezze

If you want a taste Nepal’s socialite scene, then head to Mezze. Mingle with the elite while savoring delicious wood fire pizzas and every concoction of cocktails and mocktails you can think of. Mezze is fittingly located in Kathmandu’s swankiest spot in Durbar Marg and offers an astonishing view of the exquisite Narayanhiti Palace, where the monarchs of Nepal once lived. So, it's highly recommended that you take your drink outside and enjoy the view.

Kuala Lumpur: Marini’s on 57

This gorgeous rooftop bar, restaurant and cocktail lounge is the epitome of luxury. Located on level 57 (Menara 3 of PETRONAS KLCC), it is the perfect spot if you want a 360-degree view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. If you are a meat lover, Marini’s is also associated with Marble 8, a premier steakhouse offering the most decadent selection of cuts, which is just a level below (level 56). Here, you will be blown away by the finest Italian cuisine comprising of artisan-made pastas, imported beef cuts and the freshest of international seafood that is air-flown from Italy. You can browse through their extensive wine portfolio with their in-house Sommelier and choose the perfect drink to complement your meal. The elegant décor by the award-winning Italian artist Rosalba Mangione is absolutely breathtaking. Head to Marini’s on 57 to savor the taste of authentic Italian food with a modern twist and experience true fine dining at its peak.
